About
Teammates 4 Life was founded in 2012 to provide holistic and comprehensive academic tutoring, after-school programs, and summer enrichment services to underserved students and their families in the greater Charlotte metropolitan area and neighboring counties. Recognizing that within the overall affluence of the region were persistent pockets of poverty and educational need, TM4L developed tutoring and other programs to help students achieve academic success and reduce the achievement gap between students from lower-income families and their wealthier peers. From its inception, TM4L has provided innovative, creative support to students and their families. We have successfully provided after-school, tutoring, and other programs and conducted a well-received and well-attended summer academic enrichment camp. Programs are fee-based, but we work to secure philanthropic support so that we can provide full scholarships for in-need students. Our success is the result of dedicated, highly-trained staff, the use of innovative curriculum and teaching methods, and a focus on serving those students who will most benefit from our approach.
"We push each other to get better. We would never be as good alone as we are together." - Ryan Wittman
Our Mission
Teammates 4 Life (TM4L) is to inspire and encourage kids, giving them the motivation to improve and reach their established goals. Whether in the classroom or on the playing field and court, we will provide quality instruction, support, and equipment to allow youth to meet their fullest potential.
Our Vision
All kids deserve to play on a Team and Teammates 4 Life and their partners hope to reach as many children as we can each year. At TM4L, we believe kids want to play, be active, learn in life and school, and be inspired. Families want to be healthy, recreate and spend time together ,and engage with other members of the community.
